Sharadha Sankararaman Kodem is a seasoned immigration attorney with over a decade of experience, specializing in employment-based immigration and advocating for immigrant rights. After earning her Bachelor’s in Computer Science in India, Sharadha pursued her Master’s in Computer Science in the United States on an F-1 Visa. Following the approval of her H-1B visa, she embarked on a career as a Software Engineer and Architect for a multinational bank. Her tenure coincided with the aftermath of the Lehman Brothers collapse, during which she played a pivotal role in implementing regulatory and compliance processes within the financial sector.

Sharadha works extensively with Information Technology Organizations including Technology Start-ups, Engineering firms, and Research Facilities, assisting them in navigating the complexities of immigration law while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks. She advises clients on a range of immigration matters, including non-immigrant visas (H, L, O, P, TN), labor certification processing (PERM), and permanent residence applications (EB-1A, EB-1B, EB-1C). Her legal expertise extends to handling immigration litigation, such as Writ of Mandamus before Federal Court and cases involving employer sanctions, compliance issues before government agencies like the Department of Justice and the Department of Labor.

Sharadha’s dedication to immigration law is underscored by personal experiences, including navigating a wrongfully initiated deportation process. This challenging ordeal strengthened her resolve to champion immigrant rights and provide legal support to individuals facing similar situations. She has successfully advocated for clients in Humanitarian Parole, U Visa, VAWA, Asylum, and other removal proceedings. Recently, Sharadha was sworn in as a U.S. Citizen, a testament to her commitment to the American ideals of justice and inclusion. Alongside her legal practice, she volunteers as a guest speaker and moderator on immigration law at prominent organizations, contributing her insights and expertise to the wider community.

Why do I practice U.S. Immigration Law ?

As a recently naturalized U.S. citizen, practicing immigration law is a deeply personal passion. I love helping clients achieve their dreams – whether starting a business or pursing a personal goal. Immigration has changed my life and I have seen how it can transform others’ lives, too. When I help clients navigate the intricacies of immigration laws, it is as if lending a hand to create a more diverse, innovative, and inclusive America that values the contributions of immigrants. This work that allows me to guide individuals toward success while positively impacting society is truly a joyful privilege.
