Heidi Son brings a unique blend of immigration and employment expertise, specializing in employment-based immigration for individuals and corporations. She advises clients on non-immigrant, employment-based visas (H, L, E, O, P, TNs), labor certification processing (PERM), and permanent residence (greencard) applications based on employment (EB-1A, EB-1B, EB-1C, and EB-2 NIWs). She has extensive experience assisting entrepreneurs, start-up companies, and members of the arts, music, research and science communities with complex and difficult cases to obtain L-1, E, O visas, as well as green cards for extraordinary individuals in the arts (EB-1A), outstanding researchers (EB-1B), and multinational executives/managers (EB-1C).
Prior to starting Kodem Son Tang Law Group, Heidi served as the Head of Business Immigration at Murray Osorio, PLLC, where she oversaw all aspects of business immigration-related matters for publicly traded companies to startups in a broad range of industries. She was previously a partner at SW Law Group PC responsible for overseeing all legal case work, client and personnel management as well as staff training. In addition to her immigration experience, she also served five years as a Labor & Employment associate at a major Am Law 100 firm, O’Melveny & Myers, responsible for assisting Fortune 500 companies with various labor and employment matters often featured in headline news.
Currently, in addition to the case work, Heidi volunteers as a guest speaker and moderator on immigration law, presenting seminars and information sessions for global mobility advisors, HR specialists, and universities, such as her alma mater, Duke University. In 2010, she also served as collaborator for a comparative labor & employment seminar at the Tokyo campus of Temple University Law School.
